Jan-March 2020: Georgian domestic exports come to $778.2 mln

The share of domestic exports in total exports constituted 69.3 per cent and amounted to $539.5 million (-1.7% y/y), said Geostat.

Georgia's domestic exports (exports without re-exports) amounted to $778.2 million in January-March 2020, which is 5.9 per cent less compared to the same period of last year, show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The share of domestic exports (export of locally produced goods and services, including those of foreign origin that have been substantially changed through local processing) in total exports constituted 69.3 per cent and amounted to $539.5 million (-1.7% y/y), said Geostat.

In the reporting period the share of the top 10 trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 79.6 per cent. 

The top partners were:

  • China ($97.1 million)
  • Bulgaria ($83.1 million)
  • Russia ($82.6 million)

In January-March 2020 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equalling $159 million, or 29.5 per cent of total exports. 

The exports of ferro-alloys totalled $58 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 10.8 per cent. The wine of fresh grapes exports occupied the third place standing at $44.1 million and constituting 8.2 per cent of the total exports.
