Jan-April 2020: Georgian domestic exports come to $713 mln

Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $713 million in January-April 2020, announces the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The share of domestic exports (export of locally produced goods and services, including those of foreign origin that have been substantially changed through local processing) in total exports constituted 71.2 per cent.

As for the total exports, in the first four months of 2020 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) amounted to $1.01 billion, which is 11.9 per cent less compared to the same period of last year.

In the reporting period the share of the top 10 trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 80.2 per cent. 

The top partners were:

  1. China ($131.5 million)
  2. Russia ($113.1 million)
  3. Bulgaria ($111.3 million)

In January-April 2020 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equalling $215.7 million, or 30.2 per cent of total exports. 

The exports of ferro-alloys totalled $91.7 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 12.9 per cent. The wine of fresh grapes exports occupied the third place standing at $55.4 million and constituting 7.8 per cent of the total exports.
