A 50-year-old individual infected with coronavirus has been fined by police for violating self-isolation rules in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that the individual tested positive for the virus on January 4 and was told to self-isolate.

The Georgian citizen was fined 2,000 GEL while driving in a car and was placed under mandatory quarantine in a Covid-hotel.
