Police record 1,244 coronavirus-related violations in the past 24 hours

Police have recorded 1,244 coronavirus-related violations in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

Out of the 1,244 individuals, 67 were fined for violating self-isolation and quarantine, while 1,177 were fined for violating face mask regulations.

Georgian gov’t introduces further coronavirus restrictions until Jan. 31

If an individual violates the rule of self-isolation and quarantine, he/she will be fined 2,000 GEL, while a legal entity will have to pay 10,000 GEL.

Georgia has reported 3,216 new cases of coronavirus, 3,937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours. 20,305 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. Georgia has had 135,584 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 113,986 individuals have recovered, while 1,267 others have died. 6,383 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,038 of the 6,383 patients are in critical condition. 466 of the 1,038 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

Coronavirus: 2,309 businesses closed down, 2,738 warned, 2 fined for violating regulations

A total of 2,738 businesses have been warned, 2,309 have been closed down, while two others have been fined for violating coronavirus-related regulations in Georgia. Recently introduced COVID-19 restrictions entered into force on November 28, restricting the activities of numerous businesses, including hospitality, fitness and spas.

Georgian gov’t introduces further coronavirus restrictions until Jan. 31

The government of Georgia has imposed further restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country. The restrictions that will be in effect between November 28 and January 31 are as follows: An effective curfew will be in force between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00. The restriction will be temporarily lifted on December 31 and January 6 (for New Year and Christmas). Restaurants and other food facilities will fully move to takeaway services which includes takeaway, delivery and drive.

Economy Minister: 90% of increased demand for medical oxygen covered by local manufacturing

About 90 per cent of increased demand for medical oxygen is covered by local manufacturing, said Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava earlier today, noting that the Ministry of Economy is involved in promoting the production of medical oxygen and increasing its stock in the country.

Georgia has reported 3,487 new cases of coronavirus, 2,495 recoveries and 39 deaths in the past 24 hours. 17,943 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country; 10,477 of the 17,943 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,466 were PCR tests. Georgia has had 198,387 cases of coronavirus since February. 167,281 of the 198,387 individuals have recovered, while 1,922 others have died. 29,158 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
