Village of Khidiskuri in central Georgia placed under lockdown

The village of Khidiskuri in Khashuri municipality has been placed under lockdown to prevent the further spread of the new coronavirus.

Residents of the village will be allowed to leave their homes only in case they need to buy food, medicines or they are going to receive medical service. However, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the village.

Locals will also be able to carry out agricultural work in line with the recommendations of the Health Ministry.

Lentekhi municipality in the western Georgian region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti was also placed under lockdown starting April 11 after four locals tested positive for the coronavirus.

Similar restrictions have been applied to Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities in eastern Georgia, which remain under lockdown since March 23.

As of now Georgia has reported a total of 266 cases of the coronavirus as of today. 67 people of the 266 have recovered, while three individuals have died.
