Village of Khidiskuri in central Georgia placed under lockdown

The village of Khidiskuri in Khashuri municipality has been placed under lockdown to prevent the further spread of the new coronavirus.
Residents of the village will be allowed to leave their homes only in case they need to buy food, medicines or they are going to receive medical service. However, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the village.
Locals will also be able to carry out agricultural work in line with the recommendations of the Health Ministry.
Lentekhi municipality in the western Georgian region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti was also placed under lockdown starting April 11 after four locals tested positive for the coronavirus.
Similar restrictions have been applied to Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities in eastern Georgia, which remain under lockdown since March 23.
As of now Georgia has reported a total of 266 cases of the coronavirus as of today. 67 people of the 266 have recovered, while three individuals have died.
Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities in eastern Georgia have been placed under lockdown after a local, 62-year-old woman tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday after coming into contact with more than 80 people and spending four days in a local hospital. The two municipalities have more than 158,000 people total.How the woman contracted the virus is as of yet unknown. Her health condition is critical.
Four administrative units in Kobuleti municipality in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara will be placed under “strict quarantine” after several locals tested positive for the coronavirus. The administrative units of Gvara, Mukhaestate, Leghva and Tskavroka will be placed under “strict quarantine” as the infected individuals had contact with a large group of people.

Given the full quarantine, local residents will be able to go out only to buy food or medicines, or receive medical care.
Additional police checkpoints will be set up in Georgia’s western Vani Municipality. Medics will thermoscreen all citizens at the checkpoints in order to prevent the spread on the new coronavirus. Government has made the decision since several new cases of the virus have been confirmed in Georgia earlier today out of which one is connected with Vani municipality.
The city of Bolnisi and the village of Rachisubani in eastern Georgia have been placed under ‘strict quarantine.’At the borders of the city and the village, block posts have been set up by police.
The villages of Khatisopeli, Vanati, Mushevani in eastern Georgia have have been placed on strict lockdown due to an outbreak of the coronavirus. Georgian Interior Ministry announced earlier today that movement in the villages will be banned.
The town of Tetritskaro in Kvemo Kartli has been placed on lockdown after a number of local residents tested positive for coronavirus. Kvemo Kartli governor Shota Rekhviashvili announced today that a total of 19 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the Tetritskaro municipality, including 12 cases in the town of Tetritskaro.
The number of coronavirus cases stands at 496 in Georgia as of today. 149 people of the 496 have recovered, while six others have died. As of April 27, 339 people remain infected with the virus inside the country. 4,833 people are under quarantine and 571 others are in hospitals.
