Emerging film director Ana Urushadze’s Scary Mother premiers in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi today after wide international recognition.
Urushadze's award-winning feature is among the 10 debut works of the principal section of this year's Tbilisi International Film Festival.

The film follows a Georgian housewife who decides to read her first complete work of writing to her family, only to be confronted with controversial reception.
Played by Nata Murvanidze, the principal character is supported by a cast of Georgian actors in the Georgia-Estonia co-production.

Scary Mother has also been picked as Georgia's bid for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the next Academy Awards.
Running between December 4-10, the festival will reveal the owners of the main prizes – Golden and Silver Prometheus tonight.
