PM “convinced Georgia will achieve full EU membership by 2030" on Europe Day

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said he was convinced that by 2030, Georgia would achieve full European Union membership , in his message on the annual Europe Day.

Kobakhidze noted that EU membership was Georgia’s primary foreign policy priority and stressed after the country’s integration into the bloc, “Georgia, with its unique culture and traditions, will then contribute significantly to the EU’s continued success”.

The Schuman Declaration was signed on 9th May 1950, marking a crucial step toward the formation of the EU. In the aftermath of World War II, Europe embraced core values such as democracy, the rule of law and human rights. The EU and its institutions played a pivotal role in upholding these principles”, he emphasised.

The Head of the Government stressed the “long-standing peace” had provided “a stable environment” that allowed the EU to “steadily develop” its economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
