Irakli Chikovani, the Minister of Defence of Georgia, on Monday met Faig Guliyev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the country, to discuss strategic partnership and “good neighbourly” relations between the two countries.
The Ministry said the meeting also featured Colonel Fuad Ibrahimov, the Azerbaijani Defence Attaché, with the parties also discussing prospects of developing bilateral defence cooperation and “positive dynamics” of high-level visits.
The officials also highlighted joint participation of servicemembers from their states in international exercises and cooperation in military education.

The Georgian foreign office on Monday welcomed an agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on launching a process of border delimitation, noting Georgia was “interested in securing lasting peace” in the South Caucasus region.
