Asian Development Bank President Masatsugu Asakawa on Saturday said he was “proud” to have partners like Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Odile Renaud-Basso, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, “to help build the bridge to a future that is greener, more sustainable, and more connected”.

Asakawa noted that at the meeting in Washington, the parties had discussed the importance of addressing climate change and other risks, including “anti-globalisation measures that are certain to undermine growth and resilience”.

At the meeting, there were also exchanged “ideas on how multilateral development banks and their member countries can strengthen their collaboration to tackle those challenges and respond to the crisis”, the ADB President added.
