Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Friday highlighted the attractiveness of Georgia’s investment climate and potential at the Georgian-Slovak Economic Forum in Bratislava.

The Ministry of Economy cited Davitashvili as noting his Government's interest in supporting an increase of Slovak investments in the country.

Today, Georgia is an investment destination with low taxes, reduced risks, a liberal business environment, access to green energy and free trade access to markets with over two billion people”, Davitashvili told the Forum.

In general comments, the Minister also praised the “exceptionally close and friendly relations” established between the two countries over decades, which he said had created an “important basis” for further deepening their partnership and business ties.

"This year we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries [...] We deeply appreciate your unwavering support in the process of Georgia's integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures”, he told officials of the host country.

“We expect that your political and practical support will be strengthened and will help Georgia to successfully move forward towards the next stage of joining the European Union”, Davitashvili also said.
