Revaz Beshidze, Georgia’s Ambassador to Slovakia, on Monday highlighted Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s scheduled participation in the Global Security Forum on security and foreign political issues.

In his remarks, Beshidze said the Forum, scheduled between Monday and Wednesday, represented “one of the highly respected platforms” for discussing security and foreign policy issues and would feature a delegation led by the PM.

Garibashvili is scheduled to deliver a speech at the thematic panel on Central and Eastern European issues. The general discussion will also cover security topics and European security challenges as a result of Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine.

“With more than a thousand attendees from 65 nations, the Global Security Forum is unprecedented. Therefore, Georgia can effectively advocate for its objectives in this platform. Right now, the focus is on obtaining the status of a member of the European Union this year and beginning accession negotiations”, the Georgian diplomat noted.
