Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Friday participated in a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany to discuss the circumstances created by the ongoing war in Ukraine and the country’s needs in combating Russian offensives.
The United States Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin gathered defence ministers and high-ranking military officials from around 50 countries for the meeting, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
At the meeting, officials from several countries confirmed transfer of promised military aid to Ukraine.
The discussion also focused on security challenges facing the United States’ allies and partners.
A Georgian delegation chaired by the country’s Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Tuesday joined more than 50 top military officials from NATO member and allied states in Brussels to discuss assistance to Ukraine amid its ongoing defence from the Russian invasion.
