Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden will visit Georgia from Wednesday to Thursday, meeting Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili and the European Union Monitoring Mission in the country, the Swedish Embassy has said.
The visit forms part of the programme of Sweden’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with underscoring the importance of EU Civilian Crisis Management and reinforcing its civilian missions forming priorities for the country’s EU Presidency.
The Embassy noted the Crown Princess also wished to highlight the “long-standing friendship and partnership between our countries and peoples” by visiting Georgia.
The ongoing reforms within the Georgian Justice Ministry were discussed on Tuesday by Justice Minister Rati Bregadze and Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The implementation of reforms for meeting the European Union conditions for granting Georgia its membership candidate status was discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
