The prices of restaurant and hotel services, as well as cost of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased in Georgia in June month-on-month, according to the latest inflation data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
The figures showed prices for restaurant and hotel services increase by 2.3 percent. This included increased prices for both accommodation (5.5 percent) and catering services (2 percent).
An exception was observed in prices for vegetables, with a -4.2 percent decrease noted by the Office.
Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices increased by 0.7 percent in the measured period, with the former showing a 1.4 percent gain.
The figures also showed lowering healthcare costs in the country, with prices for medical products, appliances and equipment reduced by -0.8 percent.
Overall, in June 2022 the consumer price index increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 12.8 percent.
With regards to the annual core inflation, the prices increased by 5.8 percent, while the annual core inflation without tobacco amounted to 6.6 percent", Geostat said.
As for annual inflation, prices increased in the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages (+21.8 percent), transport (+ 19.4 percent), and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+13 percent).
