Five out of six children injured in fireworks accidents on New Year’s Eve needed surgery, Medical Director of Iashvili Children Hospital Ivane Chkhaidze said earlier today.

Four out of the five injured children remain in Iashvili Children Hospital.

Chkhaidze noted that the number of children injured by fireworks does not decrease from year to year in Georgia.

The irresponsible attitude of parents towards children’s health is completely inexplicable… Unfortunately there are many cases when children lose a part of their hand. Such incidents leave minors with a scar for a lifetime”, Chkhaidze said.
