Coronavirus in Georgia: 422 new cases, 158 recoveries, 8 deaths

Georgia has reported 422 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 23,169 tests over the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 158 individuals have recovered and eight patients have died.

As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of  277,218 cases of Covid-19, including 269,784 recoveries and 3,691 deaths. 

Out of the new 422 cases 216 were reported in the Georgia capital of Tbilisi.

  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 22
  • Kvemo Kartli - 22
  • Shida Kartli - 22
  • Guria - 20
  • Kakheti - 10
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 5
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 3
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 2

The number of active cases of the virus stands at 3,717, out of which 1,423 infected individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Tbilisi (730), Imereti (273) and Adjara (137).

Unfortunately, a 27-year-old Georgian nurse Megi Bakradze who went into anaphylactic shock after receiving the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine died yesterday. However, Georgia continues vaccination in clinics with intensive care units (ICUs).
