Georgia has reported 1,826 new cases of the coronavirus after conducting a total of 51,248 tests over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 1,826 new cases 596 in Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:
- Imereti – 362
- Kakheti - 289
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 163
- Kvemo Kartli - 96
- Adjara - 85
- Shida Kartli – 82
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 50
- Guria - 38
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 33
- Samtskhe-Javakheti – 32
Meanwhile, 795 people have recovered from Covid-19, while 29 infected individuals have died.
As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia stands at 616,589, including 587,499 recoveries, 9,005 deaths and 20,059 active cases.

Georgia has reported 1,743 new cases of coronavirus, 2,266 recoveries and 29 deaths in the past 24 hours. 18,969 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.36,047 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 20,685 of the 36,047 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 15,362 were PCR tests. The country has had 613,012 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
As a result of the measures taken by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) aimed at ensuring the stability of the financial system as a whole in Georgia, the financial sector has passed the particularly severe phase of the shock caused by the Covid-19 pandemic 'quite successfully', says the NBG in its recent report.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $15 million loan to support Georgia’s National Vaccines Deployment Plan by purchasing and delivering an estimated 700,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines as well as syringes, safety boxes, and other items for administering vaccines. ADB’s project will procure enough vaccines to inoculate about 300,000 people in Georgia.
The Labor Inspection Service of the Georgian Health Ministry has found that in the vast majority of Covid clinics salaries for doctors are unequally distributed while in some hospitals employees have not received vacation and medical leave payments in recent months.
