Coronavirus: 1,808 new cases of 34,979 tests

Georgia has reported a total of 1,808 new cases of coronavirus after conducting 15,268 PCR and 19,711 rapid tests over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 1,808 new cases 1,046 were reported in Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:
- Adjara - 161
- Imereti - 123
- Kakheti - 111
- Kvemo Kartli - 97
- Shida Kartli - 78
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 74
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 43
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 39
- Guria - 19
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 17
Meanwhile, 361 individuals have recovered and 22 patients have died.
As of now Georgia has confirmed a total of 386,195 cases of Covid-19, including 363,318 recoveries and 5,538 deaths.
As of now Georgia the number of active cases of Covid-19 stands at 17,313 in Georgia.
Registration for vaccines is available via booking.moh.gov.ge as well as the health ministry hotline 1522.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has expressed his concern for the increased number of the new cases of Covid-19 in recent days, especially among children.
I, as a parent, want to appeal to our people to show our civic responsibility. The government has no other leverage but to offer its citizens the vaccination”, PM Garibashvili has stated earlier today.
Noting that he does not want to reimpose any restrictions again, he calls on everyone to receive their respective vaccines.
Vaccination is currently underway in Georgia with four vaccines: Sinopharm, Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
One million doses of Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines have arrived in Georgia and the country is starting mass vaccination on July 5, announces Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. In addition, Garibashvili announced that one million doses of Pfizer vaccine will be gradually introduced in the country starting July.
The Georgian government is negotiating with Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers and is going to import an additional one million doses of Pfizer in June or July, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said today.
Individuals over 45 years of age will be able to get vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced today.
The Pfizer vaccine is already available in Georgia and residents can start registering to receive the jab at https://booking.moh.gov.ge starting today at 15:00, announces the Ministry of Health of Georgia. Vaccination applicants can also register directly during a visit to clinics.
The delivery of one million doses of the Pfizer vaccines has already begun in Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has announced. He said Georgia will be receiving the vaccines gradually every weekend enabling the population to register at booking.moh.gov.ge.
Georgia has reported 1,286 new cases of Covid-19, 1,701 recoveries and 13 deaths over the last 24 hours. Out of the 1,286 new cases 759 were reported in Tbilisi. As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia stands at 387,481, including 365,019 recoveries, 5,551 deaths and 16,885 active cases.
Georgia has reported 848 new cases of coronavirus, 1,231 recoveries and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 18,194 tests have been conducted around the country of which 9,607 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 8,587 were PCR tests.
