Coronavirus: 1,808 new cases of 34,979 tests

Georgia has reported a total of 1,808 new cases of coronavirus after conducting 15,268 PCR and 19,711 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. 

Out of the 1,808 new cases 1,046 were reported in Tbilisi. 

Other cases were reported in:

  • Adjara - 161
  • Imereti - 123
  • Kakheti - 111
  • Kvemo Kartli - 97
  • Shida Kartli - 78
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 74
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 43
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 39
  • Guria - 19
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 17

Meanwhile, 361 individuals have recovered and 22 patients have died. 

As of now Georgia has confirmed a total of 386,195 cases of Covid-19, including 363,318  recoveries and 5,538 deaths. 

As of now Georgia the number of active cases of Covid-19 stands at 17,313 in Georgia. 

Registration for vaccines is available via booking.moh.gov.ge as well as the health ministry hotline 1522.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has expressed his concern for the increased number of the new cases of Covid-19 in recent days, especially among children.

I, as a parent, want to appeal to our people to show our civic responsibility. The government has no other leverage but to offer its citizens the vaccination”, PM Garibashvili has stated earlier today. 

Noting that he does not want to reimpose any restrictions again, he calls on everyone to receive their respective vaccines. 

Vaccination is currently underway in Georgia with four vaccines: Sinopharm, Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
