Seven employees of Khashuri City Council have left the ruling Georgian Dream today to join the political party of former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
An official statement released by the press office of Gakharia’s party For Georgia (Geo. Sakartvelostvis) reads that as the Georgian Dream ruling party has distanced itself from the principles and goals for which its members fought in 2012, the employees of Khashuri City Council have made the decision to leave the ruling party and join Gakharia’s For Georgia party.
We have left the ruling party and continue to fight not against anyone, but for a better future of our country”, reads the statement.
Vazha Kharshiadze, Irine Gelashvili, Mamuka Tsikarishvili, Zviad Tepnadze, Ana Kharebava, Jondo Kapanadze, and Emzar Murjikneli were the members that left the Georgian Dream to join former Prime Minister Gakharia’s party today.
Six other members of the ruling Georgian Dream left the party to join For Georgia in mid-April.
