Coronavirus: 964 new cases of 28,190 tests in 24 hours

Georgia has reported 964 new cases of coronavirus, 607 recoveries and eight deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, 28,190 tests have been conducted around the country of which 13,696 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,494 were PCR tests.
The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 629 cases
- Imereti - 77 cases
- Kakheti - 71 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 54 cases
- Shida Kartli - 40 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 30 cases
- Adjara - 25 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 12 cases
- Guria - 9 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 9 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 8 cases

Currently 9,430 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which:
- 6,039 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 2,771 patients - in hospitals
- 620 patients - in the clinical-hotels
In addition, 607 patients are in critical condition of which 158 are on artificial ventilation.

As of today 7,065 individuals are in self-isolation and 118 individuals are under quarantine.

Twenty university entrance exam takers have tested positive for coronavirus in Georgia, Head of the National Examination and Assessment Centre Sopo Gorgodze said today.
30,579 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,598 of the 30,579 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,981 were PCR tests.
In total 2,587 people died from Covid-19 in 2020, which accounted for more than five per cent of total deaths in Georgia. The number of total deaths in Georgia in 2020 amounted to 50,537, while in 2019 this number was 46,659, with a mortality rate per 1,000 persons increased by 1.1%, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
Georgia’s curfew regulations, which have been in force from 23:00 to 04:00 for seven months, will be lifted in Georgia starting today, however restaurants and food facilities in general will be able to remain open only until 00:00. The operation of nightclubs remains restricted. Municipal buses and Tbilisi Metro will serve passengers from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m starting today.
One million doses of Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines have arrived in Georgia and the country is starting mass vaccination on July 5, announces Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. In addition, Garibashvili announced that one million doses of Pfizer vaccine will be gradually introduced in the country starting July.
