Georgian Greco-Roman wrestlers win 1 gold, 2 bronze medals at Grand Prix de France

Georgian Greco-Roman wrestlers have grabbed more medals at the 47th Annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France.

Giorgi Melia has won gold in the 97kg category, while Sulkhan Buadze and Guram Khetsuriani have won bronze in the 130kg and 87kg categories, respectively.

Earlier Georgian athletes grabbed 4 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals in freestyle wrestling. 

As of now four Georgian wrestlers top the preseason rankings.

Greco-Roman:

  • reigning world champion Nugzar Tsurtsumia - 55kg category 
  • reigning world champion Lasha Gobadze - 82kg category

Freestyle:

  • reigning world champion Beka Lomtadze - 61kg category
  • three-time world champion Geno Petriashvili - 125kg category

The 47th Annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France featuring over 300 athletes from 26 different nations was held between January 14-18.
