Georgian ski resorts host 134,183 visitors in 49 days

The 2021 winter season, which opened on March 8 and lasted just 49 days, is over in Georgia and the country’s most popular winter resorts hosted 134,183 visitors, announces the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.
Here is the number of visitors in each winter resort of Georgia:
- Gudauri – 83,055 visitors
- Bakuriani - 35,166 visitors
- Goderdzi - 7,262 visitors
- Mestia (Tetnuldi, Hatsvali) - 8,700 visitors

Georgian ski resorts closed in March 2020 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and remained closed until March 2021.
With Georgia's mountain resorts returning to their full operation starting today, authorities have released the set of visitor guidelines for minimising Covid-19-related risks.
The Ski Cross World Cup which kicked off in the Georgian ski resort of Bakuriani yesterday has hosted a finale today. “Accompanied by good weather today's finals were impressive!” Georgian Ski Federation wrote on Facebook.
The Georgian government has announced the lifting of several coronavirus restrictions. Starting tomorrow ski resorts in Georgia will open, while cable cars will start operations on March 8. Also starting February 25, intercity traffic will resume in the country. The restaurants across Georgia will resume full service from the beginning of March.
Georgian ski resorts are closing down temporarily as the government of Georgia is placing a limit on crowds and closing public places to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Ski season is approaching and the International Ski Federation has confirmed the calendar of the events planned for the Georgian winter resort of Bakuriani. Preparations for hosting the competitions are in an active phase in Bakuriani, announces the Georgian Ski Federation.
Georgia's winter resorts of Mestia, Gudauri and Goderdzi are set to launch their 2021-2022 ski season on Christmas, the state agency for managing mountain resort locations has said.
