Turkey, Russia, China - Georgia's top trading partners in Jan-Aug 2020

Turkey, Russia and China were Georgia's top trading partners in January-August 2020, show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Trade turnover with Turkey reached $970.4 million, $820.6 million with Russia and $737.5 million with China.

In the reporting period the share of the top ten trading partners in Georgia’s total external trade turnover amounted to 70.4 per cent.

Georgia’s top exported commodities in January-August 2020 were:

  • Copper ores and concentrates - $462.1 million (22.3% of total exports)
  • Motor cars - $260.1 million (12.6% of total exports)
  • Ferroalloys - $145.5 million (7% of total exports)

The top import commodities in January-August 2020 were:

  • Motor cars - $481.6 million (9.7% of total imports)
  • Petroleum and petroleum oils - $325.1 million (6.6% of total imports)
  • Copper ores and concentrates - $312.1 million (6.3% of total imports)
