More than 39,300 students have registered for the country’s university entrance test, the Unified National Exams, says the National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC).
In addition, more than 12,600 candidates have registered for the Unified Master’s Exams.
Meanwhile, more than 3,600 candidates registered for the grants competition, while more than 19,600 candidates registered for teacher competency tests.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the deadline of the registration has been extended to 6 pm, April 30, instead of 6 pm, March 30.
As of now there are no changes to the format and schedule of the United National Exams.
Examinations are planned in July, while exact dates will be announced in June.
All safety measures, including social distancing, hygiene norms and sanitising work will be observed while organising the examination process. The main task of the NAEC is, on the one hand, to protect the health and safety of the participants of the exams as much as possible, and on the other hand, to conduct the examination process perfectly,” says the NAEC.
Studies will not be resumed at schools until September 1, however, the school year will not be cancelled in Georgia.
All schools and high educational institutions had to remain closed in Georgia since the end of March as a measure to prevent the spread of new coronavirus.
