Dec 2019: money transfers to Georgia amount to $172.3 mln

The volume of money transfers to Georgia in December 2019 was $172.3 million, which is a 14.2 per cent increase compared to December 2018, announces the National Bank of Georgia.

More than one-third of money transfers came in from the European Union: 

  • EU countries - $65.15 million (37.82%)
  • Other countries - $107.12 million (62.18%)

The largest countries from which money transfers entered Georgia were the following:

  • Russia - $43.82 million (25.44%)
  • Italy – $23.84 million (13.84%)
  • Greece – $19.6 million (11.38%)
  • US – $16.51 million (9.59%)
  • Israel – $14.55 million (8.45%)
  • Turkey – $8.31 million (4.82%)
