Interior Ministry to use trained volunteers in emergency situations

The Georgian Interior Ministry has launched a new volunteer project for emergency situations to address problems caused by natural disasters with the help of trained volunteers. 

Volunteers will be trained by the Red Cross. 

300 volunteers will be trained initially during the pilot project,” the ministry says. 

The project presentation has been held in Borjomi, eastern Georgia, earlier today. 

The project will be launched in Samtskhe-Javakheti region first and will cover the whole of Georgia next year.
