Ten streets in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi will be named after famous Georgian film actors and directors. These will be the streets, which either did not have any name or needed to be renamed to avoid duplication.
It means that soon you may find streets in your neighbourhood carrying very well-known names of Bela Mirianashvili, Dodo Chichinadze, Leila Abashidze, Liana Asatiani, Marine Tbileli, Giorgi Danelia, Medea Japaridze, Vakhtang Tabliashvili, Givi Berikashvili and Iakob Tripolski.

This year marks the 111th anniversary of the Georgian cinematography. The Georgian film was "born" in 1908 with the documentaries of Vasil Amashukeli and Alexandre Digmelashvili.

Georgian film director, scriptwriter and actor Rezo Esadze has passed away at the age of 86. His latest production Month as One Day has won the National Competition section of Tbilisi International Film Festival in 2016.
