Foreign Minister welcomes speeding up AA with Georgia

"Georgia welcomes speeding up signing the Association Agreement, the Foreign Minister of Georgia Maia Panjikidze commented on the statement of the European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.  

According to her, leaders of many country stated on the Vilnius Summit that it is desirable to sign the agreement as soon as possible the autumn 2014 that was fixed in the declaration as an official signing date.

"We welcome the shift of the agreed date. All the works are made from our side. Only technical processes are left to be carried out by the EU and if they can speed up this process, this would only be welcomed by us, Panjikidze said.

The European Council President Herman Van Rompuy said, "The European Union is eager to speed up the signing of the Association Agreements (AA) with Georgia and Moldova by August, 2014. The statement was made today following the European Council meeting  in Brussels today.
