Lonely Planet: ‘These European destinations have been named the safest to visit during COVID-19’

Georgia is one of the safest countries to visit, reads an article published by Lonely Planet, which is based on a new report released by travel website European Best Destination.  

Concentrating on countries least affected by COVID-19, the destinations have also implemented specific protocols concerning hygiene in places like accommodations, restaurants and shops”, reads the article.

Lonely Planet writes that in comparison to other countries around the world, Georgia has fared better in terms of total number of cases of coronavirus, and was quick to react with measures.

According to the study, case numbers are approximately 260 times lower than the most affected European countries”, reads the article.

With borders reopening 1 July to certain countries, Georgia will be implementing a series of health measures to protect travellers and citizens alike, says the article.

Among the other safest countries to travel during the coronavirus, Greece, Portugal, Croatia,  Romania and others were also named.
