Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Tuesday highlighted the ongoing occupation of Georgian territories by Russia on the 15th anniversary of the 2008 war between the two countries.
Darchiashvili noted Russia continued its “illegal military presence” in the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

The official paid homage to the “heroes who fought for their land” in the conflict and pledged his Government’s commitment to peaceful resolution of the conflicts on the territory of the country.
