Georgia is hosting a delegation of the German federal ministry of economy and climate protection for the first time following the Covid pandemic this week, with the country set to also bring business professionals of the two countries together in an economic forum.
The German embassy to Georgia said on Monday business societies from industry, infrastructure and tourism were participating in the visit planned as part of a market research programme supported by the German government.
A large part of the trade and economic relations between Georgia and Germany comes from these branches of industry. At the same time, these sectors play an important role in Georgia's aspiration to get closer to the European Union, which Germany supports politically and economically", the embassy said.
The German delegation is hosted in capital Tbilisi and the winemaking region of Kakheti in the east of the country, while the forum planned during the visit will look to establish ties between business circles of both countries.
The official visit of German economic delegation will run through Friday.
