Netanyahu, the longest-serving prime minister in his country’s history, won 64 seats of the Knesset’s 120 in Tuesday’s polls for his coalition, with his own Likud party gaining 32 seats.
The elections, with final results released on Thursday, came after the Israeli parliament dissolved itself in the summer after an eight-party government alliance had disintegrated.
President Isaac Herzog will give Netanyahu 42 days to form the country’s new government.
