Tbilisi residents and visitors will be invited to taste Georgian cheese, meat products, honey wine, tea and other products by local producers at the Unique Georgian Taste agrarian market hosted in capital Tbilisi’s Dedaena Park this weekend.
Set to run with the backing of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation through European Union support, the event will present nearly 50 producers from across regions of the country and exhibit their local niche and terroir products, the FAO said.
The organisation also noted it had trained all participants on food safety and business management by, with some also receiving financial assistance for equipment or improved premises through the support of the EU.
The event is being supported by the EU under the EU4Business initiative entitled EU Innovative Action for Private Sector Competitiveness in Georgia, along with other sponsors. The initiative aims to assist Georgian entrepreneurs in improving the legal environment and access to finance, while strengthening ties with the EU.
