Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will participate in the 58th Munich Security Conference (MSC) scheduled for February 18-20 along with the world leaders, the Georgian government administration announces.

In the invitation letter Chairman of the conference, Wolfgang Ischinger says the MSC 2022 “will present the international security community with a particularly unique opportunity for high-level personal exchanges, including strategic debates on stage as well as bilateral and multilateral meeting in private.”

As in previous years, the debates of the main programme will be accompanied by a great variety of side events, organised by internationally renowned institutions and organisations,” the letter further reads.

Ischinger also notes the format and programmes of the event will be adapted in accordance with health and safety regulations due to the global pandemic.

The MSC 2022 will assemble more than 450 senior decision-makers and leaders across the world.

The official website of the MSC says the conference of this year will be different from the ones from previous years, adding “it will not only be held in a reduced format with fewer guests, fewer media representatives, and smaller delegations travelling to Munich but we will also introduce a number of innovative participatory formats to complement our traditional activities.”

The MSC, forum for debating international security policy, was launched in the fall of 1963 where “the world's most pressing security concerns” are addressed.
