Georgian-Danish bilateral relations and the impact of the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine on the security situation in the Eastern European region were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod.
The meeting also focused on the situation in the Russian-occupied territories of Georgia and the related security challenges, the Government Administration said.
The top Danish diplomat underlined Denmark was a "strong and clear" supporter of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Garibashvili spoke about Georgia’s European Union membership bid and noted the country hoped for a "strong support" of international partners in this process.
The officials also spoke about the cooperation between their countries within the framework of the Danish Neighbourhood Program (DANEP), pointing out the mentioned programm “plays an important role in the process of democratic and institutional transformation of Georgia.”
