Tbilisi City Hall will open a tender at the end of April to purchase 300 new minibuses for the capital city.
A total of 36 million GEL (about $7,570,683) will be spent on new public transport from the state budget.
Tbilisi City Hall has already purchased 300 Ford minibuses which has already started serving passengers since February 22.
The City Hall has a plan to replace the current outdated fleet of yellow minibuses (marshrutkas) in Tbilisi with new Ford minibuses by the end of 2021.
As of April 1, a new integrated public transport system has been launched in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi, which enables passengers to travel by metro, buses and new blue minibuses for an hour and a half with a one-time ticket.
