A photo that former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia posted last evening on Facebook has immediately grabbed public attention.
As of now the photo has over 180,000 emotions, 30,000 comments and 7,500 shares.
In most of the comments citizens are expressing their support to the prime minister who announced his resignation on February 18 amid a disagreement with the ruling Georgian Dream party over the opposition United National Movement chair Nika Melia's case.
The Georgian Dream ruling party nominated Giorgi Gakharia to take up the premiership following Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze's resignation in 2019.
Gakahria's government was then approved amid a protest rally outside the parliament, with young anti-occupation activists protesting his premiership, due to June 20 rally dispersal.
The ruling party has now nominated acting Defence Minister Irakli Garibashvili to replace Gakharia. Garibashvili, who had previously served as the country's PM between 2013-2015, named his new cabinet yesterday.
