One dead, six injured after roof collapse in steel workshop on Rikoti Pass

One individual has died and six have been injured after a roof collapsed in a steel workshop in the village of Vertkvichala on Rikoti Pass in Georgia.

The collapse was supposedly caused by heavy snowfall.

Roads department of the Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reported that the injured individuals have been transferred to medical centres in towns of Khashuri, Terjola and Zestaponi of western Georgia.

The department noted that snow removal works are being done on Rikoti Pass.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation regarding the case.
