Police have detained two individuals for membership in ‘the criminal underworld’ and the illegal purchase and possession of firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi.

The two individuals, identified as D.Kh. born in 1974 and N.B. born in 1997, who acted on behalf of ‘thief-in-law’ Boria Apakidze, had demanded from a businessman in Tetritskaro municipality to pay them $10,000.
The Georgian Interior Ministry reported that the two individuals had threatened to forcefully take the businessman to the ‘thief-in-law’ in Turkey if he would not pay.
The crime is punishable from seven to 11 years of imprisonment.
