Twenty-four more employees of the Enguri dam have tested positive for the coronavirus earlier today after four of them tested positive for the virus yesterday.
Another six people tested positive for the coronavirus today in Gali, which are contacts of the infected employees.
All the infected people are residents of the village of Saberio, in Gali municipality of Abkhazia.
A large part of the Georgian energy supply and the whole Abkhaz energy depends on the Enguri dam.
The infected employees were working online and they had no contact with the other employees of Enguri dam. There is no threat to the operation of the Enguri dam as a strategic facility - the technical staff is distributed in shifts and the facility continues to operate as usual,” says the Enguri HPP administration.
All coronavirus infected people will be brought to the controlled territory of the central government of Georgia and will be sent to different hospitals for treatment.
