Head of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze says there are almost no new cases of community transmission of COVID-19 in Georgia.
We have somehow dealt with the community transmission, but not completely… we have managed to overcome the most dangerous threat [and] avoided dramatic increase of new cases”, Tsertsvadze stated.
Tsertsvadze earlier noted that the rate of coronavirus infection is currently decreasing in the country.

Nevertheless, some citizens continue to violate the state of emergency regulations. In particular, police have fined 87 individuals during the last 24 hours throughout the country.
The Interior Ministry calls on everyone to follow the regulations of the state of emergency, otherwise individuals will face a fine of 3,000 GEL, while legal entities will face a fine of 15,000 GEL.
Only three individuals have tested positive for the coronavirus in Georgia since morning, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 642.
Georgia's Russian-occupied Abkhazia region has also reported three new cases of the virus earlier today, increasing the total number of cases to 13 now.
