French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili by phone and praised the measures Georgia has carried out in the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic.
The current pandemic situation has shown that Georgia has a strong health care system and this system will be further strengthened in cooperation with France,” said Zurabishvili.
Presidents of Georgia and France discussed Georgia's European integration process.
Despite the pandemic crisis, the European Union should strengthen cooperation with Georgia,” said Zurabishvili.

Macron and Zurabishvili noted the strategic importance of the Black Sea for Europe in the context of transportation, communication and security.
Georgian President Zurabishvili spoke about Georgia’s plan to open the country to tourism.
Macron noted his support for safe tourism in the country and expressed the wish to deepen French-Georgian relations in the tourism sector.
Presidents of Georgia and France discussed the humanitarian crisis on the occupied territories of Georgia and the renewal of the borderisation process.
Zurabishvili said that involvement of the international community at a high political level is important in order to solve the conflict.
