Coronavirus cases in Georgia hit 272, 68 patients recovered, three dead

Georgia has reported a total of 272 cases of the new coronavirus as of today, with 68 of these being patients who have recovered and three fatal cases.

There are also three Georgian citizens in the country who tested positive for the virus abroad and are undergoing treatment in Georgia.

As of April 14, 4,890 people are under quarantine and 439 others in hospitals.

In neighbouring countries, Turkey has had 59,956 cases while Armenia has reported 1,013; the figure sits at 1,098 in Azerbaijan and 15,770 in Russia.

Another Georgian citizen has died from the new coronavirus in Barcelona, Spain, said Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani earlier today. The patient was a 55-year old woman who was also suffering from cancer.

4 administrative units in Kobuleti municipality placed under quarantine

Four administrative units in Kobuleti municipality in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara will be placed under “strict quarantine” after several locals tested positive for the coronavirus. The administrative units of Gvara, Mukhaestate, Leghva and Tskavroka will be placed under “strict quarantine” as the infected individuals had contact with a large group of people.

Georgia has reported a total of 296 cases of the new coronavirus as of today. 68 of the 296 patients have recovered and three have died.There are also three Georgian citizens in the country who tested positive for the virus abroad and are undergoing treatment in Georgia. 223 patients remain infected with the virus in Georgia. A resident of Kaspi municipality in eastern Georgia has tested positive for the virus.
