Georgia’s PM to Israeli President: I’m happy we host 150,000 tourists from Israel annually”

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili told Israeli President Reuven Rivlin that the two nations have "exceptional ties” and he is happy that Georgia annually hosts 150,000 tourists from the country.

Georgia-Israel are connected with 2,600 years of friendship. We face positive dynamics in many directions. Our country hosts 150,000 tourists from your country annually and the figure increases from year to year,” Kvirikashvili said.

Kvirikashvili said that in the Autumn Georgia will host a Georgia-Israel Intergovernmental Commission meeting to discuss the prospects of further cooperation in agriculture, high technologies, education, security and other fields.

Georgia and Israel face same challenges and we should learn from your experience. Georgia is Israel’s very reliable ally in the neighborhood full of challenges,” Kvirikashvili stated.

 Rivlin also highlighted Georgia-Israel strong ties and stated many Jews live in Georgia and many Georgians in Israel.

We are eager for more deepening of relations,” the President said, adding Georgia and Israel enjoyed very intensive cooperation for security and agriculture.

The President stressed he "very much respected” Georgia-Israel centuries-long, "very positive relations.”
