Rati Ionatamishvili, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the Parliament, on Friday met Sachin Dev Pavithran, the Executive Director of the United States Accessibility Council, Alison Levy, the Director of Technology and Information Access of US Access Board and Eslan Ellison, the Disability Justice Officer of the US State Department, to discuss standards of communication and web accessibility for people with disabilities.

In the framework of the 17th Assembly of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in New York, the parties discussed standards of communication and web accessibility for people with disabilities, good international practices and legal frameworks, ruling Georgian Dream party press office said.

The meeting also “positively” assessed the national accessibility standards approved by the Georgian Government based on principles of universal design.
