Georgian Health Minister visits H1N1 patients in hospitals

Health Minister Davit Sergeenko is visiting patients with H1N1, the swine flu, in hospitals.

The first visit he took was to Iashvili Children's Central Hospital, where two children are being treated.

During a meeting with doctors, the children’s health condition was discussed, in addition to their treatment strategy.

Sergeenko plans to visit every hospital where patients with the H1N1 virus have been being treated for more than two weeks.

Currently, approximately 500 patients suffering from the swine flu remain in hospital. However, the ministry reports, the number of patients are decreasing every day.

The H1N1 virus has caused 20 death this winter.

Swine was responsible for the flu pandemic in 2009. The virus is officially known as influenza virus A/H1N1.
