80% of Georgians feel relations with EU are good, poll says

Eighty per cent of Georgians feel relations with the EU are good, while 71 per cent of people in Georgia trust the EU, a recent survey funded by the EU reads.

The poll say that 50 per cent of Georgians have a positive image of the EU.

Only four per cent of Georgians have a negative view of the EU,” the EU in Georgia press office says.

74 per cent of Georgians (up 16 per cent since 2017) are aware of the EU’s financial support to the country, and 62 per cent say that the support is effective.

The EU has funded 2019 opinion polls in Georgia through its ‘EU neighbors east’ project.

The survey took place between February and April 2019 thorough Georgia, involving 1,000 people.

The annual survey is now into its fourth year – the survey was first carried out in 2016.
